model mayhem!

Fashion and horror collide in a column gone mad! This can only mean one thing: over at AMC this week, I've got a column about...umm...fashion and horror. Read it...if you dare!

Not sure why you wouldn't dare...I mean, it's just a column. Wimps!

I dared! I must see The eyes of Laura Mars - what better than a young Fay Dunaway?

Hey Stacie

you seen NOTHING UNDERNEATH - it's a nice mix of weird psychic connectivity, murder mystery, Giallo thriller and fashionistas getting sliced and diced... mind you that Italian film reminds me that this is also where Argento is headed with his new film, GIALLO, where Milan catwalkers are cruelly killed by a man who needs to disfigure their pretty faces...

Great article! a few familiar films and one or two i may have to check out. Lets not forget the kitschy brilliance of Mario Bava's Blood & Black Lace for bevvies of models and erm, blood. Now lose the robe... :P

I have a copy of Nothing Underneath sitting here...I guess I've been saving it for a special time or something!! :P I did think of it, though, and Blood and Black Lace as well, as I mentioned to my editor. The "problem" (for lack of a better word) is, the site/channel is called "American" Movie Classics, so they want me to stick with American horror.

It's really tough sometimes...talking about slashers and NOT talking about Black Christmas, or not being able to explore gialli, for instance. Sometimes I sneak stuff in there, though...

Oh hot damn I love LOOKER so goddamn much it hurts, from the glorious theme song to guns firing hypno rays to Albert Finney's marvelous performance (we need more plastic surgeon detective protagonists) to the hilarious shoot-out in the final reel.

Sidebar - I really wish that FASHION BEAST (the Beauty and the Beast update, scripted by Alan Moore for Malcolm McLaren) had been made.

The totally awesome guy at campblood.org calls Looker "America's Next Dropped Model." That alone makes it worth seeing in my book.

You keep up the sneaking Stacie... and thanks for the reminder of Blood and Black Lace - that's a great film from Bava! Let us know what you think of Nothing Underneath when you get a chance... meantime, looking forward to your trailer.
