LUDLOW teaser trailer

Well, after everyone endured all my blabbing...and blabbing...and blah blah blah-ing about the making of Ludlow, I felt it was only fair to make good on my promise to post a teaser trailer. It's only small, but...ack. Anyway, here. I have to go...I'm feeling all nervous.

Looking good. Blood covered hottie in a hotel room; a recipe for success if I've ever seen one! Looking forward to the finished product.

Heh...that's all it takes! Well, a blood-covered hottie and a crazy townsperson, and you've got yerself a fine slice o' horror cinema.

Dammit, the crazy townsperson! I knew I forgot something!! This movie's gonna tank. I'm dooooooomed!!

Looks great, Stacie! Can't wait to see the finished product. Remember art created under duress is Great Art...ummm, usually.

First off: It's a success! A teaser trailer is supposed to make me want to see more, and that's what this one does.

Points -

As an insomniac, I like the am I awake/am I asleep? uncertainty hinted at here. I have whole weeks like that. Luckily, they rarely involve waking up covered in blood.

I really dig the unusual sound design element in the trailer and I hope that something similar is present in your final film. Sound design is an oft-overlooked component of film, especially horror where it can be hugely effective.

No third point, but re-read the first thing again: it's a good tease!

Very nice!

Thanks, guys!!

IZA: I'm glad this makes you want to see more! I just wanted to relay an enticing peek; good to know that maybe worked.

And yeah, I'll be making sound design a big part of this (successfully, I hope)- that's been a concern since...well, before this was even written. As you said, it's often neglected, but it can be SO effective...

Thanks for watching, y'all!

That little bit really whet my appetite. Can't wait to see the whole film! After all of the crap you had to go through to get it made I'll appreciate it all the more.

Oh my... you are such a tease. More please!

Yes, the sound design in the trailer increases to the need for more.

Woooooooooo this looks uncommonly good. My heart doth quiver with fear. In fact, it was that good I could almost hear the blood pulsing through my veins! Definitely a big opposable phalanx to the vertical.

'Ludlow' looks very, er, David Lynch-ish to me (and as a big admirer of Lynch's work, I mean that as a compliment) what with the odd camera angles and the sound design. The teaser definitely whet the appetite for more, so I'm really looking forward to see the whole film.

I love a trailer that doesn't say too much about the film. This one looks interesting and I'm not just saying that.

Because I'm typing it. Get it?

Wakka wakka, sir...wakka wakka indeed.

Y'alls is the knees for the comments!!

I'm loving it so far. I do want to see much more. Can't wait to see the full finished film and review it for my site. Or other sites. Spreading the word of someone who appreciates the genre as much as you do.

Plus blood soaked hottie = profit.

Looks cool, can't wait to see more. Personally I love the bottle breaking over someone's head part :)

Got wind of this from Christine at Paracinema (Paracinema.net, kiddies!!) and color me impressed. If I had any advice it would be to figure what you can do and don't aim too high. Most indie films seem to shoot for the stars and expect us to understand when they fall short. Liking the sound design, liking that you toyed with lighting. Definitely would give the finished product a shot. I also like that I have no idea what this is about and yet I want to see more.

Oh and the capcha as I am typing this is "scari". How awesome is that?

Thanks guys!

I understand what yer saying...err, Naked. Though I'm going to (obviously) try to make this the best I can, it'll never exactly be what I...what I saw in my head, I suppose. There'll be shortcomings due to limitations on time, budget, equipment, and my skill level, which is low, to say the least. I've got no formal training or real experience in any of this, so I'm flying by the seat of my pants here.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you- I'm incredibly proud of what we accomplished and I'm psyched with the results so far.

Holy crap, I don't even know what my point is anymore!

Uh... Paracinema is rad!!

Yea, you'll have that, Stacie. What irks me is when I see something in an indie film and think "why did you even think that was possible on this budget?" An effect or a clever shot not quite hitting the mark is forgivable, I think. Trying to sell a 10 car pile up when you only have 2 cars is less so. Hell, the majority of Mulberry St. was shot in the same apartment with rearranged furniture. That was impressive. Maybe what I am saying is don't be afraid to cut an ambitious shot that didn't come out well.

Then again, I have never made a movie, so who am I to speak? hehe. Also, my friends have taken to calling me Eski. I dig it.
