with regrets

DUDES. All my stuff got pulled from Zazzle for copyright BS. Hmm, they haven't pulled shirts with "Camp Crystal Lake" splashed all over them, or fucking PHOTOGRAPHS of Freddy Krueger. My stuff, however, they won't print.

It could be something as simple as having "Friday the 13th" in the item title lines and on the items. I'll figure out what I can do and re-post what I can.

If you already bought something...I'm not sure what the next step is, as this just happened and I'm investigating. Hopefully Zazzle will just automatically cancel your order and refund your dough.

So sorry! Stupid law.

That's fuckin' bullshit. I really wanted one of those beer mugs.

It may be as simple as taking the "Friday the 13th" off of it, although I don't know if that would have bearing on people wanting these.

Orrr, it may be that I can't title the products Friday the 13th.

Orrrr, it may be that I can't use any copyright material in the product tags.

They didn't tell me specifically- they said it could be any one of those things.

Meanwhile, someone else is selling a t-shirt with a picture of Jason on it. It makes no damn sense.

Stacie, you're taking food out of the mouths of the Voorhees family!

But seriously, one of those mugs would have been awesome. That's too bad. Maybe you would get away with it if you left out the Friday the 13th logo (which is copywritten).

My verification is "myersi", which is actually a word we can all use. The new Halloween movie is not "myersi" enough.

Maybe "Friday the 13th" in that font is trademarked. Your pictures on their own are certainly unique and could certainly stand on their own. It's more delightfully esoteric that way, anyway. Am I the only one who likes esoterica?

(but IANAL)

Word verification: ingen! I am not making this up. I only liked the third Jurassic Park movie, anyway.

word verification: behappla, so let's all "behappla."

Just thought I'd share

Zazzle policies can be a little hard to figure out. They pulled a Night of the Living Dead mug design of mine saying it infringed on someone's copyright. I emailed them pointing out the film had been in the public domain for decades and they were carrying dozens of NOTLD related items. They responded and told me I was free to repost the mug.

Paramount.
Viacom.

Corporations more evil than Jason ever could hope to be.

At least you lived to tell the tale....

Utterly ridiculous.

Crap, I ordered one of the mugs!

Did anything ship? If so they could be major collectors items!

Stacie Ponder said...

They may have shipped. Someone who ordered one said he got a notice that it was ready to ship, and the sales are still showing up in my account info.

Guess we'll see!

I got an "Your Order Has Been Queued For Shipment!‏"

Perhaps you could fool 'em with a bit of Italian?! Google language tools suggests "Venerdì 13" or "Venerdì il Tredicesimo".

Yeah I was about to say that I've gotten a shipping notice and there's a UPS tracking number that says it's on its way... hrm. Perhaps a box with Gwyneth's head in it will show up instead which, no offense Stacie, but I think that'd be even cooler than your very cool mug. Now I just wait and see! Maybe it will be your mug wrapped in Gywneth's head! The possibilities are endlessly exciting!

I wonder if CafePress would be more forgiving.

I'm glad the people who ordered will get their products, at least. And yeah- they'll be collector's items! They'll only degrade in what you paid by 10%...whereas batch #2 (which I'm cooking up) will degrade by at least 25%. :D

Have you thought of doing something more obscure, like Suspiria or Phenomena?

Doubt anyone would be after you for them...
