FGFC Pick!

The rousing success of last month's Final Girl Film Club pick has gone completely to my head and now I'm mad with power! Mad, I tells ya! Sure, this power doesn't really do anything for me and it's all sort of vague and useless, but when I saw my elderly neighbor yesterday and she was all "Hello!"...man, you should have seen me. Yeah, I said "Hi, how are you?"...but I was thinking "Lady, you don't even know the power I wield. You. Don't. Even. KNOW."

Bah. I don't even know what I'm talking about anymore, and though all evidence may point to the contrary, I'm only high on life.

And crack.

And a little hooch- because nothing goes with crack like some nice hooch, I always say.

The point of all this is that it's time to pick the next film for our super club! Hooray! This time I'm keeping it classy. Behold: The Innocents!

Oscar-winning cinematographer Freddie Francis frames this creepy supernatural thriller adapted from Henry's James's novella The Turn of the Screw. When a young governess (Deborah Kerr) accepts a position supervising a girl and her brother in a lonely old house, she begins seeing things -- and the children start developing strange habits. Though she's convinced the house is haunted, its clouded history seems intent on keeping her in the dark.
I've read The Turn of the Screw, but I've never seen this movie. By all accounts it's phenomenal, so again...hooray!

You can find the film on Netflix right here. And yes, the due date is quite far off, but this is how it must be this go-round, my babies.

The movie: The Innocents
The date: June 18

As B.A. Baracus used to say, I don't know, Hannibal, but I see what I can do.

Deborah Kerr! Great actress.

I refuse to see anything with Deborah Kerr, but good luck with your next Film Club round. And remember: all mad-with-power people must have an interesting background story they can share one day, like Austin Powers' Dr. Evil. http://www.flickr.com/photos/gatochy/482149953/

Wow, I've never heard of anyone having a hate-on for Deborah Kerr! Why...yeah, why? :D

You picked another movie I have already watched and reviewed hehe. Sorry I forgot to send you the link for the last one. Maybe I still will though. Yeah I think I will. Always fun to be apart of this.

She's so PURE! And she smiles courageously through her tears. And she's so tender, and yet somehow assertive! I can't stand iiit! No, really, I don't hate her, I just don't respond to her onscreen persona.

Heather, you're lucky. See, since you've already seen and reviewed this one, you'll get all the...uh... COOLNESS associated with being in the Club without having to do any of the work! :D

Mariana, with "she smiles courageously through her tears", you have become today's #1 superstar. Yay! Hilarious.

I believe I should be able to pull myself away from the Vader youtube video long enough to participate.
